The annual Canberra Cup event was held at the Canberra Kart Club on the weekend. There were another 3 victories at the event for the Tony Kart brand starting with Joshua Fife.
Josh raced in 2 classes, Junior National Light & Junior Clubman. In Junior National Light Josh qualfied on pole position and went onto lead every lap of every race all weekend! In Junior Clubman Josh qualified in 2nd position and apart from a heat 1 DNF he finished either 1st or 2nd in the heats. Josh started the final from 1st position but was relegated to 2nd at the start where he would spend almost the whole race only to be passed with 3 laps to go, but would go onto to finish in 3rd place. Canberra local Alec Morse led the whole Junior Clubman final and took the victory in his Tony Kart chassis.
In the Open Performance class, KZ driver Harrison Knight got off to a goos start by qualifying in pole position and taking the win in heat 1. He unfortunately had DNFs in heat 2 & 3 but fought back from the back of the grid to finish the pre final in 3rd place. Harrison got the jump at the start of the final and moved into the lead where he simply drove into the distance to win by over 4.5 seconds.
Due to Josh Fifes dominant display in the Junior National class all weekend, Josh was crowned the 2014 Canberra Cup Champion and gets his name included in a very prestigous list of previous winners.
